Will banks count a 401k for 6 months reserves for each of your properties  in regards to buying another property?

Hey BP, how difficult is it to get a 5% down loan already owning 2 properties.? It would be owner occupied. Getting lost here on how to go about purchasing a 3rd property.. I don't have 80% LTV in my other 2 yet or enough for 25% down.

I'm in the process of using VA streamline refinance. Everything sounds good but I am concerned about the escrow. The lady on the phone said that the old escrow will not transfer to the new escrow account, instead they cut you a check to do what you want with so she says. My question is if I take the money and use it for something else will I be short money later in the escrow account when the time comes?how does it work?

Thanks

Ryan

anyone think it's possible to get a cheaper rate on a rental property refinance going from VA to conventional that will be lower then 4.25? 80% LTV. Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

James do you have enough LTV in your VA financed property to qualify for a refinance to conventional ? I'm in a similar situation in hitting some road blocks. I have two VA loans out and looking to get into my third. I was told it would be hard to use my fha with strict guidelines now convincing them why I need a 3rd home. I'm looking into refinancing one of my homes which my LTV is just at 80%. It seems most banks are looking for 75% LTV and I'm not sure if a conventional loan will beat 4.25% interest rate on a rental property. Curious what path you are taking?

Thanks!

Ryan
