Hey everyone! Thanks for the replies... Im currently in Real Estate School but wanting to be an Investor for many of the same reasons posted.

Im curious to know why some investors choose to go it on there own while others choose to partner, or employ a RE Agent to help them find deals...

What are the Pros and Cons?

Im looking to start my journey with a house hack. I am a Veteran, so I know I have access to a VA Loan (100% financed, a big plus).

I would like to know things to consider when House Hacking from local investors. (Fixed & Variable cost, P.M. or DIY)

I would have a little under $15k when ready but wondering should I tie it up as equity (to lower monthly payments) or keep it to invest in another possible property?

I will also do my best to make it to the Meet in Rocklin on Nov. 1st.

I'd love to network, maybe get into wholesaling to earn some cash to get into BRRRR and Short Term Rentals (AirBnB).

Hi everyone.

I'm gonna jump straight into it...

So, talking to my Grandmother while visiting her last week, she mentioned to me that she is having a hard time renting her house out in Jackson, MS. I don't know any details as of yet but it belonged to my Great Grandmother and Im more than positive there is tons of equity in the place.

Id like to know options, would love to hold on to it... Maybe offer a small down, and lease to own. If not, i may keep options open. I can get a few more details within a week.

@Account Closed thank you for all the great advice but allow me to be brutally honest... I would really love to know what is/was the hardest part of the first year getting started, pros and cons, expenses I can expect and etc... while its fresh on your mind.

Thank you all for being so welcoming and offering the advice you did.

Hello BP,

As the subject says, I am new to the Real Estate Investment game. First off, a few things about myself... I am 29 yrs, an Army Veteran just getting out about a year ago Nov. 2015 (served 4 years), Married with a baby girl. I will soon start taking classes for my CA R.E. License and have attended a couple of 3-day REI Seminars (I understand the meat and potatoes). I say all that to say, my goals here on BP are very simple.

Learn Contracts relevant to the State of CA, Tax Liens, House Hacking, Wholesaling, the best way to find a mentor local to Sacramento, CA (I hear REI Meet Ups are good places? not asking for one on this site), how to put together an LLC (already have an EIN), best marketing practices used, buyers and sellers list.. etc

Find Title companies that work with wholesalers in Sacramento
