My opinion is the same as Ned's response. I'm not sure why you would renew the lease.

This is horrible. I would evict the tenant in a heartbeat.

Bryan L. It would be very difficult to do that in Hawaii. Studios rent for 1,000+ a month and you can buy a million dollar home and still have to fix it up.

Thanks for your responses!

Bryan L. I do own shares of REIT, but I'm looking to invest in actual RE. Do you have any suggestions if I had 10-15K? Thanks!

Bryan L. thank you for your response. In the city/state I live in, buying a house to live in would be difficult. However, I do believe I could purchase my own residence if I were to move to another state.

Yes, I understand debt is risky, but I make weekly payments to cut down on the amount of interest. 7-8% on 50k on a student loan can be scarey.

I think I also need to qualify...I don't make much money, but I still have enough to save and invest in my stocks/mutual funds. Money is tight, but I'm always looking for ways to diversify my investment portfolio.

Ned Carey thanks for your brutally honest opinion. Sounds like RE investing or any investing, is only for the rich. Thanks bud!

Hello all,

I was curious if someone could briefly summarize different types of financing for a person who does not have much saved and who doesn't have the best paying job?

I'm currently swarming in student loans and a lot of my money is paying that back.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your responses! I'm new to this website. Do you know of any good archived articles on financing?

Like many people in the BP family, I aspire to invest in RE. Without any experience in this field, can anyone recommend a solid book/video that will give me some detailed information on what I should prep for? What's preventing me from investing is I don't have a solid educational foundation. However, when I do, I want to "jump two feet" into this business.

My biggest concern is financing. I do work full time, but I don't make much (paying back my student loans). Is RE investing even possible for a person who has only been out of college a few years?

Thanks,

Ryan
