The things that helped me the most have been reading the bigger pockets beginners guide.

Finding someone interested in the same thing as you. For example I am interested in buy and hold rental properties. My friend does the same thing and has been successful with it.

Having someone as interested as you are keeps you motivated and can help keep you on the right path when investing. Ultimately your education is up to you though.

I recommend checking out the webinars on bigger pockets when they’re available they always have some good information.

Find 30 min to an hour in your day and pick a good book. Brandon Turners book on buying property with other people’s money is very educational And it is not a snooze.

Other than that read plenty and ask question to other folks in the business

I’ve found some success finding deals online. My question is I understand a lot of investors have more success finding these deals using a wholesale real estate agent. My question is how to go about finding a wholesale real estate agent? Does anyone have any recommendations? I am specifically looking in the Winston salem area but am open to other areas around kernersville.

I’m mostly looking for deals in the 20k to 50k range because I am just getting started.  Also looking for sellers that are looking to do seller financing.

Any advice is welcome and thank you in advance.

Thank you for the resources and advice.

Starting to read the beginners guide today and listening to the podcasts. Thank you Ian for the support before I discovered this website the idea of being a real estate investor seemed impossible. Now I feel confident that it can be done!

Hi everyone,

My name is Ryan Klamer, I am a rookie real estate investor from Kernersville, NC.  Right now I am currently a printing press operator at transcontinental packaging.  I enjoy learning new things and the challenges that come with that.  My short term goal in real estate is to purchase my first single family home as a rental property and manage it by end of this year 2019.  My long term real estate goal is to continue learning daily and pursue other investments, to make my families life as comfortable as possible.  I came to join bigger pockets from a friend who is a pretty savvy real estate investor (currently owning 10 properties).  I want to learn as much as possible and meet some new and exciting people with similar goals and a whole lot more experience than myself.

Good to meet everyone thank you.
