Interested in Provo as well as Orem. Thanks for all the input everyone. I'm looking into a student housing house hack for my daughter who will be going to school in the fall. Could be BYU - could be UVU...the applications are in, just waiting to hear. I like the market and know the area a little from my days as a student at BYU, but some things have changed. ;)
@Nathan Sampson Thanks. I will reach out to connect. Would love to get your thoughts.
@Cherie Orellana Thanks for the tips. I agree I'm looking for the best overall value. Trying to keep my options open, but also want to get my RE investment train moving.
@Kathy Henley thanks for your insight. Honestly I have had concerns about Condo's myself. I live in Seattle and have considered it here as a way to "get into the game", but don't like the issues with being subject to a board.
My reason for considering it more for student housing are 2 fold 1) It is a way to get into the game since I'm starting out; 2) there are amenities like pools, common areas, etc, that seem to be more in the norm for College students vs. living in a SMH.
I'm not 100% sold on that as my plan, but it seems viable. I don't plan on investing in Condos more than that, but who knows.

Welcome Oz. I'm pretty new myself. I lived in Provo when I was in school and I'm interested in investing in that market. Best of luck and congratulations on the beautiful family.
Hello - I have a daughter that will be going to college in the fall and I'm looking into investing in student housing as a house hack of sorts to invest in real estate and reduce the cost of student housing for her in the process. We're 95% sure she'll be in school in the Provo/Orem UT area so that is the market I'm looking at.
I'm thinking of purchasing a condo which she would live in and then we would rent the other rooms. It seems that you can rent by the bed or by the room depending on how you price it.
I'd appreciate any input on condo ownership, student housing, etc.
This will be my first investment in real estate. But I want to do more in the future, not necessarily related to student housing. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello all - Like many of you I'm looking to start investing in RE. I'm from the area, but see the current pricing as a challenge for a newbie like myself. I've been exploring out of state options, but that makes me a little more nervous. Would be great to connect sometime and hear of your experiences.
