Wow, I just noticed that it said "Ku Klux Klan, LLC", I didn't know they were a legal entity.

A little extreme, isn't it? I would say that it is extremism on both sides that cloud people's brains not anything else.

Also, without liberals there would be no conservatives, so don't bother "converting" them all.

Biff -

I don't expect you to know this since you don't watch TV, but The Daily Show is different because it *DOESN'T* call it news reporting (at least not in any way that is not satirical).

In fact, the writers open reject the idea that they are a news source. They refer to the show as "fake news" and "satire" and have responded to critics by saying that they have no journalistic responsibility whatsoever.

Unlike other "news" outlets where the hosts take themselves very seriously, The Daily Show is all about entertainment. Sure, that entertainment is left-leaning political satire, but just because the satirical topic is politics and just because the format of the show resembles a news program doesn't make it news.

Sure, there are some idiots who use The Daily Show as their primary source of news (probably a lot of idiots, actually), just like there are a lot of idiots who use Rush, Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reilly as their main source of political news.

But again, the difference is that Jon Stewart never claims to offer anything other than satirical entertainment, while the rest of those jerk-wads act like what they are saying is the word of God.

J Scott, that is the part that Tim was referring to. Actually after reading your post, I was under the same impression that you had point blank called me an idiot.

I was going to point out that I didn't use the daily show as my primary source, but rather as my secondary source. Despite the satire (which comes in handy to make a point) they sometimes have some great common sense points.

Tim,

I am not a believer in gold, though I have alot of family that trade gold for a living.

I believe those stores will be short lived, as soon as the economy improves, people won't have as much a need or an urge to get rid of their old jewelry.

I agree with the article. She made some excellent points and the fact that an imbecile judge was not able to distinguish between free speech and the intentional infliciton of emotional damages is still disturbing to me.

I would hate to think he is deciding people's fate!

That said everyone (even those here) have been called on gramatical errors, or interpretation errors, and even factual errors. Because one makes mistakes that does not make the case for bias (it does not disprove it either).

I am confused as to when is the "News Hour" or maybe "News 10 Minutes" at Fox (or perhaps many of the other channels) All of it seems to be commentary. If you can get me a time, maybe I will go back to watching news channels again.

As for many of us getting called on gramatical errors etc...I am not getting paid to write this. Secondly, there aren't millions of people who form their opinions based on what I put out there!

J Scott, the only reason I chose to share that link was because at the end of the clip there are SEVERAL polls that show that there are alot of people that favor health care reform. I figured it was easier than finding and linking to each poll separately.

Believe it or not I was just trying to make a comment on the misinformation out there and not trying to debate politics.

Tom,

my comment that you might be better informed with the above programs was extremely fictitious.

However, today's news media is no more than opinion page. There are very few facts(if any) and a bunch of what the person with the microphone thinks.

BTW, there is literature on both sides about the media bias. On the left, check out the link above and the 10 minute video will show you some examples of how Fox is biased. As for O'Reilly and Limbaugh, check out any of Al Franken's books.

As for calling anyone racist, I wouldn't stereotype like that. If someone makes a racist remark, I would call them racist, if they don't then I won;t.
