I am not sure if this is a serious thread? because if it is, I might have to take a long hiatus from BP once it is sold.

"those that give up liberty for security deserve neither" -- Thomas Jefferson

@Tim: That is nice, I am glad that you took action on this. I don't think the gentlemen should have to pay these fees because he and his family have already paid too much.

@Rich: I agree with you on the government getting involved with too many things, but this isn't the first time the government is taking such actions.

Mike,

I couldn't agree with you more. I have read and heard of people doing some disturbing things in the name of freedom, but this took it to a different level.

That marine volunteered so these guys wouldn't have to be drafted, he made the ultimate sacrifice for his country ,regardless of where you stand on the war, and he should be hailed as a hero, not protested.

Sometimes I just can't stand the ignorance of some people.

some very solid points up there. Many times people overlook that in a negotiation it is not you VS them. You are both on the same team and you want to help him move his house quickly. Once he realizes that, then he will be more receptive.

I read the above article and was very disturbed by it. I believe in freedom of speech as much as the next guy, but like any other freedom, its not absolute. A person who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country should be allowed to rest in peace.

Hi Priscilla,

Thanks for this thread, I learned alot from it.

I also need short term funding from time-to-time (<20k). But I have found it nearly impossible to find. Hard money lenders normally want deals that are bigger (50+k) so for the smaller amounts I am stuck. Let me know if you find something.

Once again, thanks for your unbiased review on this thread!

Post: Is outsourcing justifiable in this economy?

One of the guys that has influenced my alot is Jim Rohn. He is known for saying radical things like "we don't get paid for the hour, we get paid for the value we bring to the hour". Thus, when we stop being valuable, our employer will go find value elsewhere.

Having said that, there are plenty of US companies that are now (trying) competing with foreign outsourcing, and I try my best to stay US. I went to guru.com(thanks to this site) to get my site developed and the lowest bid (with many references) was a US based company. I wanted to outsource to an answering service, again a US based company was the best one considering all things.

I had a good friend who did RDPD. Him and his wife were very involved with the whole process (reading, playing cashflow, doing other "homework" etc), but they didn't make their goal. By the time they invested with him, they already had 4 rentals and wanted to know what else they could do to advance their goal of getting out of "rat race". I asked him afterwards if he would recommend it for me and he said he wouldn't :(

I know this is third party, but not much of success with him.
