I actually posted about SmartSheet in another area, but this would be an ideal option for you.  It allows you to track projects, has gant files, calendars and can be shared with others with multiple viewing/editing options.  It is basically a very cool spreadsheet that allows you to inlcude docs, photos, conversations etc. all in one place...and nag everyone throughout the process with reminders and requests for updates.  (I LOVE that part, so I don't have to manually up date a spreadsheet after getting an e-mail).

I bet you could create a fabulous template to share with others.   (SmartSheet is not free, but a great investment)

We (Build It Green) are trying to figure out the best way to let contractors (in California) know about the programs available to them.  For instance, there is a Property Tax based finance program that can be offered to clients (flippers too).  Or the different energy efficiency incentives, etc.

Is there one place in particular (other than this awesome site) that is your go-to for industry information?

I would love to hear who is taking their renovations to a green level, and how they accomplished it.

OR what hurdles are keeping you from going green?

S

I am a big fan of SmartSheet.  (look at their template gallery or Youtube page

1 - Track everything your do in Excel, but in the cloud. Just one version with ability to let others edit, just see, or only see certain parts of the Smartsheet

2  - Creates forms that populate into the Smartsheet  (for online work order requests,  surveys, site audits)

3 - allows attaching all docs within the Smartsheet

4- all financials can be managed within

5 - the Task feature is awesome.  Task others (non-users too) by line item and make them update the task status

(No, I don't work for them, but my company has been able to dump a few other processes since SmartSheet showed up).

:)

Post: What a cool website. I am glad I found it last night.

I joined BiggerPockets to keep a pulse on the residential industry's trends and areas where I may be able to educate others in best building practices for green residential building.
