Post: Can I be removed from the mortgage?

Hello BP World

I am writing this to find out some answers on a question I had I over the weekend.

My wife and I are on the mortgage together for our primary property, but if I could get off the mortgage and then get my own mortgage for our first rental could that be possible? In order to avoid the 20% down payment needed for a rental vs perhaps going the FHA route, which I know would mean I would have to prove proof of my own occupancy of the property.

I look forward to getting some feedback!

Hello BP world! My name is Sean and I am a newbie to RE investing. I live in Philadelphia with my wife. We purchased our primary home last May 2020. We are now looking to add our first SFH rental to our aspiring portfolio here in the growing Philadelphia market.

I have listened to BP podcast for a while and have just started reading “How to Invest in Real Estate” so far so good.

I am here to connect with people who are veterans and rookies, we all have the same interest in the realm of life.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Have a good day!
