Rochester is a good market to get into! Lots of Multi Family, Single Family and commercial opportunities. It all depend on what you want to do.

I totally agree with Samuel and Mark's insight. Having a family member who is actively investing and managing in real estate is a huge asset. Rochester is an exciting market for investors because of all the different areas that are gaining movement and I am sure that your father would love to discuss that!!

Figure out what is going on in the area. What do you have to look for to find that next wave; that might be a new place to work at or new restaurants and stores! Future value is a huge factor vs. just buying a place to rent in an are that wont have any movement. Add value, BP talks about analyzing deals. Analyze a few places every day even if you don't buy it. Who's on his team? Lenders, PMs, Handy People, Realtors, Insurance People - and get to know them!

Hey everybody,

What we are implementing in our MLS, is soon to have buyers register under a number to protect everyone who may buy. Otherwise we recently are required to put out a Fair Housing Flyer at any of our open houses so the information is available to everyone!
