Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I'm really glad I found this site, the resources and people look really helpful.

@Aaron Coplin the seminar was actually pretty informative for a novice, but they rarely explained anything in-depth because they're hoping you'll buy into the Mastery program where the real meaty stuff is. I do feel like I got something out of it (besides stumbling upon this site), but if you have experience it might just be redundant. Let us know what you think of it.

Thanks for the advice, Shaun. I'll definitely check out the events and try to find locals. Great to be here.

Hi everyone,

I'm Shane and I live in Framingham, MA. I am currently unemployed and considering going to school for radiologic technology (ie, x-ray technician). I'd like to learn about REI and -potentially, possibly, hopefully- find a way to make that my primary source of income. I'm a total newb though, so if that's even a possibility it's far down the road.

I originally found Biggerpockets after going to a Fortune Builders "seminar" this past weekend. After being given the pitch for the 5-figure mastery program (cheapest level: 20k), I left early to do some research and found this site instead. Seems like a much more price ;).

I'm looking forward to meeting other newbs and experienced investors. It seems like there's a lot of knowledge here, and I'm grateful I found this community.
