Hi Jennifer! I am in the same boat as you, a realtor who is on the newer side to investing. So far, I have relied on BP and my real estate expertise to make investment choices. I have not had much luck finding a mentor. Good luck and welcome! Would love to connect and refer if I ever have someone heading to NJ!

Hi Raf! I agree with a lot of the above statements, there is higher risk with investing from out of state and @Bradley Buxton asked some great questions to consider before making the move. However, I do think the Midwest is a great place for investing. I am a realtor in MI, and also an investor. If you are ever looking in MI, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Some areas in MI to consider: Detroit, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Petoskey/Charlevoix Area...

I felt like it was something you can't go wrong with. Even if you do not get an immediate lead, you are getting your name out in the community in a positive way. Good luck!

Hi @Jennifer Stevenson !!

Of course! I just stopped in, spoke with a manager and told them I was wanting to put a card on file to be used up to $200 on a Friday morning. They have two locations so I paid for all the orders up to $100 at one location and $100 at the other. They emailed me when I hit that mark at both locations and I added a tip and that was it really. I did leave them my business card and made it very simple, they did not have to talk about me or be "salesy" ! They simply, let the customers know coffee was on Sheena Konas, a local realtor and gave them my card with their order. I plan to do this again next week. I got so many thank yous and even a couple of leads!

I'm currently working with clients who are a part of the equestrian world and I, myself, live only a couple of miles from the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival. I'd love to tap into the knowledge and experiences of this community to not only help them find the perfect spot but to also utilize my home as a rental during the 6 week festival.

  1. Property Features: What are some key property features and amenities to look for when purchasing a home for equestrian use? Are there any specific considerations related to barns, pastures, or riding arenas that we should keep in mind?
  2. Resources: Do you have any trusted resources, websites, or forums where buyers interested in equestrian properties can find valuable listings and information?
  3. Tips and Insights: If you have personal experiences or tips to share regarding the equestrian community, or renting your home during an equestrian festival, please comment or message me!

Hi Derek!

Are you looking in a specific area? Would love to connect! I am a realtor in Michigan and an investor (new to it) myself.
