Hey Tripp - are you looking for a month-to-month lease or will you sign for at least one year?

Asheville has always been a niche market and I don’t believe we are going to see the dip in home prices that investors are wanting and waiting for especially with Amazon opening a warehouse in Mills River and Pratt & Whitney coming to the area in the near future. If anything, home values will continue to rise.

Hey Janet, I have a SFH in Fairview that I rent out and I am buying the Townhouse next door to mine In Asheville which I am going to move into and fix up and then rent mine out. Great rental market in Asheville if you can get in on it! I have not attended any meetings this year but I would like to start going to the multi-family investors group once we get a vaccine for this virus.

@Janet Taylor Hi Janet - have you tried Telco Community Credit Union? I have applied with them before but my bank of choice has always been Provident Lending out of PA. They loan for properties in NC And historically have the best interest rates. They also offer a .25 pt loyalty discount for their multi-loan clients. The down payment for rental property may be higher though, I don’t remember exactly what it is as it has been a couple years since I closed on a loan with them.

Hey John - You could try Andrew Jackson at First Community Bank in Taylorsville. Great guy, if he can make it work he will. Where abouts is your property in Hickory?

Hey Jeff - I'm curious about the cost of adding a meter. I have two units that share a meter and have entertained the idea of splitting them at some point but thought it was too cost prohibitive. Can you let me know what you get for an estimate unless you plan on doing the work yourself? Thanks.
@Jorge Perez - Thanks Jorge, I did some reading over the week-end and found some good info out there. The IRS does not make it easy on investors. :)
@kylekadish Thanks for your input Kyle, I may just end up moving in after a year then I can do a re-fi and get an owner occupied interest rate on the note.
