Post: Real estate licence????

I am new to real estate investing and was thinking about getting my real estate licences but everyone I speak with is telling me that it's not a good idea for an investor to get a real estate licences because as a landlord your tenants  will be able to use you having your license against you when trouble arises. Can anyone out there shed some light on this for me? Thanks
