Thank you very much. I shall keep looking into it. I would love a referral for a good, honest agent.

Hello to all in BP.com world; love this site!
We are new at investing and hoping to find MF triplex or quad properties in FL to both lease long term as well as provide a short term space for our working visits or vacation rental. I'm still a dreamer I guess.
We noticed an ugly MF/quad property near the beach in a decent area of Ft. Myers. Upon searching online to find the property taxes to plug into BP Buy&Hold Calc, I found this:
Sale Price Date OR Number Type Description Vacant/Improved
202,000.00 07/16/2004 4388/400 08
Sales disqualified as a result of examination of the deed
Disqualified (Doc Stamps Greater than .70/SP Gr. than $100) I
100.00 10/15/2003 4283/428 04
Sales disqualified as a result of examination of the deed
Disqualified (Multiple STRAP # - 01,03,04,07) V
65,000.00 10/01/1996 2764/631 03
Sales disqualified as a result of examination of the deed
Disqualified (Interest Sales / Court Docs / Government) I
93,500.00 11/01/1993 2454/318 03
Sales disqualified as a result of examination of the deed
Disqualified (Interest Sales / Court Docs / Government)
Should we run way from this one?

It's raining here again but a good morning to be studying and I hope to fit in another great podcast from BiggerPockets. I retired quite early from a career in IT with the US Courts with a small annuity and some savings in our 401K type plan. Anticipating a career change, I've been studying horticulture at the Univ. of Richmond and volunteering to gain experience. Although I love horticulture and plants, I may not be able to make a great living at this and started imagining other possibilities that would allow me to enjoy that and create an income stream. My husband has an entrepreneurial background and experience selling residential RE in NJ as well as property management in a small expat community in the Yucatan of Mexico. We hope to find a multifamily property in the Richmond, VA area, relocate to it and begin our adventure in RE investing in this way and grow by finding other buy and hold residential properties. We dream of relocating to the west coast of Florida in a few years and doing the same.
I am reading the Ultimate Beginner's Guide, listening to blogs, etc. and enjoying it immensely. I hope to begin working on a business plan after the holidays.
