Thanks for the feedback Nathan.

I would love for some feedback on this potential deal. I came across a property that has little redeeming value as anything but a short term rental. The market there has a pretty decent healthy demand for short term. If it would have decent cash flow but would be very difficult to resell, is that a big no no since it would be hard to exit or get capital gains off the sale?

I'm a newbie and would love some direction here.

Thanks Sam.

I'm first trying to nail down my strategy first. I live overseas (a US citizen from NY) and therefore have to factor in:

1. Is it advisable to have investments that I can check on from time to time. - The Tri state area or perhaps even Phili etc. may be possible. Does it outweigh other considerations or not.

2. Is it more advisable to flip or hold and buy from far away.

2a. Finding a team I can trust.

3. Tax issues for both the States and Israel.

4. Of course financing. (I have a lot of equity I can take out of my home in Israel).

Any suggestions, comments would be welcome.

I'm trying to balance building wealth for the future with having a supplemental income. Initially I plan to reinvest the returns.

I am overseas and looking for an opportunity to invest in a buying and holding property in the Tri state area (NY,NJ Conn.). The reason is that when I come in to the States a few times a year I would like to be able to check it out personally. Does that make sense?

Thanks for getting back to me Ola.

Is there any way you have found that works to build a team you can trust?

I'm just starting out and trying to figure out a good strategy. I am looking to balance supplementing my income and building wealth for the future. I am also overseas and have to contend with two tax codes, both the States and Israel (I am a dual citizen). I am also from NY and come in a few times a year. I would like something that I can check up personally from time to time. That would practically leave roughly the Tri State Area.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I think the biggest thing holding me back from taking the plunge is who I can trust. I live overseas and though I come in from time to time (to the NYC area) I have to rely on others. Any suggestions??

Hey Thomas, thanks for your reply.

I am a US citizen, just reside abroad. Does the advice you gave hold true for a US citizen?
