@Doug Merriott Thanks for the advice! Hope to see you on May 11th! I can't wait to educate myself enough to the point where I am comfortable making my first deal :)
@Kevin Cook Thank you for the encouraging words Kevin! I have a lot to learn about money but I am good with analyzing numbers...I think I will be a classis case of analysis by paralysis when it comes to Real Estate :)

I don't think I would care if the background/credit check comes out clean and they pay the deposit but I don't know anything. What do you mean by protected class of tenants?

@Robert Curls Thanks Robert! I have heard a couple of podcasts so far and they are pretty funny besides being informative. I live in Hillsborough county and quite a ways from Countryside but don't mind making the drive. Any other REIA groups you recommend close to Temple Terrace area?
@Account Closed Thanks Caitlin, I plan on reading it a second time over the next couple of days.
@Dave Bingham The only thing that is attractive about New Tampa is the quality of tenants I would think. My goal is to hold mostly SFH and some multi being that I live close to the USF area.

Hi everyone!
My name is Samir and I am a CPA from the Tampa Bay area and I am glad to be part of the biggerpockets community. Their seems to be an immense wealth of information on here and I am excited to learn every bit I can.
I have absolutely zero experience in Real Esate but I do know that this is the way to go if I want to build wealth and retire early. I know that I want to buy and hold in the long run but is that the way to start off? Or should I start by flipping houses and build enough cash? I would appreciate input by anyone or someone with knowledge of the Tampa market.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post!
