@Tasha Barnes  some experiences may vary, but yes, it will most likely be worth it for you to start attending these events. Unless it's a very small intimate group of people, don't expect to meet everyone on your first night. Just make friends with a couple of people and go from there. Do lot's of listening, especially if you are with an experienced group. Ask clarifying questions as needed. 

 Jake, are you originally from NY?  Moved here from NYC a year ago, looking to invest in this area because of the NYC price points and lack of familiarity with upstate NY.  Would love to connect an exchange ideas.

Local REIA zoom meetup every Friday morning @7:30 am with 40-50 various investor oriented folks and is called "Sonrisers".
