Welcome Nathan.  I work in Austin also and have been looking to start networking with other investors in Austin.  I am new to real estate investing looking to purchase my first property soon.

Do you (or anyone else from the Austin area) go to any of the real estate investing clubs in town?  I have been once but looking to join one but not sure which one.

Hello,

My wife and I are about to start a business in real estate investing.  We both work full time jobs in the Austin, TX area and can't quit to jump into full time real estate until we know we can handle it financially.  We have not completely narrowed down how we are going to work the business at this point.  I was wondering if we start marketing and sending out letters to pre-foreclosure and city code violators, is there a good way to outsource the incoming phone calls and have them screened and forwarded to us so we can return the calls when we can get to them (without hiring a full time employee)?  Any thoughts or ideas about how we can get started to get enough transactions completed so that we are better positioned for one of us to quit our current full time employment to work on building the business full time?

Hello,

I am from the Austin, Texas area and want to get started in real estate investing. I currently work in law enforcement for the Texas Rangers (TXDPS). I own one rent house near Waco, TX and would like to get into fix and flip, and fix and rent. Single family homes and duplex's I guess would be the easiest way for me to jump into REI. I have not joined any REI clubs in Austin yet but hope to in the near future. Not sure which one would be the best or if I should join multiple. I have not taken any action yet, just reading books and internet researching. I welcome any advise and cant wait to get started once I am confident I wont lose my shirt.
