So I'm looking at several smaller properties in Salt Lake City area for my first investment. I'm really curious what is kind of the "norm" to spend on your first one? I'm sure it varies a lot! But I'd love to hear about your experience!

@Ethan Bowen Thank you! That would be fantastic!

@Aaron Montague This is amazing advice seriously thank you for taking the time to respond! I'm definitely working on getting rid of my monthly rent, which will be nice. And working extra hours over the summer to be able to do at least $500 into savings right now! I'm also debating downgrading my car and just purchasing something cheaper without a payment for now. Which is sad but, I think it's a good sacrifice to make in the name of real estate.

Hey everyone, so I have been reading the forum for awhile, as well as a whole slew of financial blogs/websites/books etc. I really want to get started. I am a full time student and I work full time. And I am a first time buyer, I have some credit already being 19, with my car, credit card and braces payments. But I really want to do more. I want to build up while I am young, get a jump start. I live in Utah and honestly I would love a mentor from anywhere, I am just bewildered as where to dip my toes in first. I have a really good vision of what I want to invest in, and would love any advice you guys have, you can never have too much!
