Welcome to the community @Jake Jordan. Tons of great information across BP. 100% agree with the prior advice. Read a ton as knowledge is the best weapon. Ask questions and learn from other's experience.
Best of luck!

@Dexter Cox Not true in general. Lenders will allow far more in your personal name, assuming you still qualify for each. There are limits, 5 in some case, up to 10 in others, that you can have in your personal name. Purchasing under a LLC is different and would require commercial lending.

@Satyam Appadwedula Not that I'd recommend for a business of any scale but Excel can import transactions directly from your banks. Check out Money in Excel. Users the same technology that other apps use to connect to the banks.

@Sydney Sigue There are plenty of options to look at for lease agreements. The ones available through BiggerPockets are a great start and work well. Plus they are state specific. Be very careful with "free" as I've seen critical clauses be left out or poorly worded. Worth a small investment up front to make sure your agreement is solid.

I'd certainly advise you to find a good agent who can advise on the massive DFW are (happy to make an introduction) but agree with prior comment that duplex inventory is slim, especially on MLS.
