Definitely keep the pole. The bobcat will have more leverage to work from and an eye bolt could be secured into it to create a lifting point. You might want to look at the price of getting any landscaping or grading you need at the same time to potentially save future costs.

@Cliff H. is spot on with the mesh network option. They are fairly affordable and provide superior connectivity. This will provide quite a few years of stable connectivity throughout the property even if internet speeds drastically increase (unlikely). Separation of personal and guest networks is a great idea to "protect" the assets attached to the personal network.

It sounds like you made the right decision if you were uncomfortable with the inspection report. What is your comfort level on doing repairs? If you could put sweat equity in on projects you could handle, you could force appreciation on a different deal that doesn't have structural issues.

House hacking would give you a huge head start on your journey. While no one wants to live with others if they don't have to, it's a small sacrifice to make in the grand scheme of things. You'll appreciate the speed at which you develop by going outside your comfort zone. MF would be ideal because you really aren't living with someone or looking for a SF with a separate entrance basement which would create the separation you desire I believe.
