Thank you Ali. I really appreciate your offer and I will consider it. Making a change like this at my age is not impossible, but certainly requires a lot of planning. Thanks again.
Thank you Matt. The odds are certainly not in my favor and I appreciate you keeping it real. I do have some people that would partner with me. I just want to be the best I can be to provide value to them. I have an excellent work ethic and have great customer/client relationships and satisfaction. Running a business is where I lack the skill, so that’s where I am wanting to improve. Looking for a book that can give me a guide to go by. I’ll do the work.
Thank you Brock, for that advice. I have thought of that, but I want to have some structure in my own business and a clear vision of where I’m going before pursuing a partner.
Thanks Matthew. It looks like I will have to work extra hard to make it then. Well, BP keeps saying that if you use the systems and do your homework, you can be successful so I will have to get grinding and stay focused. Old dog doesn’t mean dead dog.
Structure> i had employees but was too picky and got rid of them after a few years. Its been me and all my work has been referral so i never really ran it as a true business. I am looking for how to structure and run as a separate entity and not just me and a hammer. I am an old dog but not afraid of new tricks. I know going forward that i need to change the way I think about my business, and I am motivated to do what it takes. I just need a little help with direction.
I am 52 years old have a contracting business. I am determined to be a real estate investor but as David Greene said in podcast 372, I am not a good business man. I need that skill if I am to be successful, so I am asking for recommendations on good books to help me get that right. TI sincerely appreciate this site and the awesome resources it provides. Tracy
