Thank you so much for replying to thread @Brad Hammond !  The start time is actually 4 pm!  I have been doing this monthly from 4-7 and I must have made a mistake with the time.  I hope you are still able to swing by!

Hello Everyone!

All are welcome to hang out, have a beer, talk about books, habits, goals, self-development, market trends and all those things that average human beings are sick of you talking about! Naturally, this is a Real Estate focused group, but it is glaringly apparent that to master Real Estate you need to master your self and to become a part of a community of support, engagement, trust, and people you enjoy spending time with!

The goal of the group is to learn and grow from one another through sharing experience, knowledge, encouragement and community. Last month we had folks looking at out of state investing, a Hard money lender, Buy and hold investors, BRRR and house hacking. Also, some people that were just curious to learn more about the process!

"Having goals is great--but it's not enough! You need action, too! You will need to get off your butt and change the world yourself, because no one else will do it for you." --Brandon Turner

@JoeTran currently I have committed to every Thursday at the same location to create consistency and to streamline my personal accountability.  However, feel free to shoot me a text if you have time after work to see if people are still there! 541-968-5193....that being said I would be down to do it another night!  Maybe we could do a Vancouver meetup sometime.  I am not an agent or an investor over there but I would love to learn more and network on the other side of the Columbia, it's not like it is far away!

Last Month was a lot of fun.  There were five of us, but it was a diverse bunch: "home inspector/flipper",  City "permit officer /buy and hold," an out of state person just joining us for dinner and me a "realtor/buy and hold."  My hard money guy said he may join us and it looks like @Kaela Meehan a"realtor/investor".  Last time none of the RSVD people showed and all the people that showed didn't RSVP, lol.  I would love to have a property manager there!! @Daniil Fasahov.

@McCall Russell I strongly suggest becoming a real estate agent. You can find a team to work for it an office with a good training program that gets you ready. I suggest working for someone if you do not have 3 months of savings after you get your license.

I love being a realtor and you can make serious money doing it. The advantages you have over a whole seller is that you can join a brokerage that provides a culture of support and education.

@Isaac Johnson I completely agree. That being said I still love my vanguard index funds. I put money in and collect good returns with zero thought. Real estate is a better return but It is my full time job. Dave Ramsey’s also speaking to millions of people. He is sending out a message that is tailored to people that are better off focusing on their debt and easy investments.

The name of the game is to make money, not get occupied with dogma or ego. Stocks are great and real estate is great. Own both!

@Anita Parsa definitely don’t worry about their intentions. Focus on the deal. Also, don’t trust their numbers. It’s worth the extra due diligence to check out local comps to see if their rents are comparable, do a full inspection of the property. Talk with people you trust, understand how much they know, weight their advice accordingly and make your own decision.

If you decide this is not the one. No big deal, move on to the next. If the numbers work and the place is something you want to own, go for it.

Ultimately no one has the answer for you. You need to focus on what is best for your business. Watch your downside and act.
