Jesse; Are you still looking?

Trust me my life purpose is to add value, I know investors who just hang their license with a brokerage... but they don't do anything. My goal is to break into retail, while still doing my wholesale deals, but i don't see why they should get 40% of the assignment fee.  @John Thedford

@JD Martin (Sorry should've elabored I was posting this while at a red light).

But I'm 19, I've been wholesaling for about 6 months now, been learning for a year and a half. I've done 11 deals. I'm at an amazing small brokerage, that gets Investing, but I want to gead towards retail. So I was switching my license (cause they have better education , systems, and what not).

But they were saying they want 40% of my assignment fee... and I wasn't quite comprehending why. They didn't really produce much of a why & I didn't want to insult them. I'm trying to figure out why they should or shouldn't get a cut of my assignment fees.

Thanks for responding

My brokerage wants a cut of my assignment fees from my wholesaling business..... I'm pretty positive I shouldn't have to split my fee, but I don't know the correct way to term my argument as to why they shouldn't get a cut of them. I don't think they should because I'm not buying a house, I'm not listing it... nothing comes through the brokerage etc. idk

This is awesome!!! Your personality exudes through your post! Anyways, I'm a 19 year old 'wholesaler'. I did my first deal 4 months ago (after spending 9 months of learning). Since my first deal I've done a handful more, gotten licensed, and started 2 REI businesses. I never had a mentor or anyone to guide me along the way... So you know who helped me close on my first deal???? The Bigger Pockets community. It's amazing honestly. I don't know everything, as I've just began this journey, but I feel like I have a pretty strong foundation... & I feel as if it'd be great to network with someone else is around the same age & is on the same path as me. So feel free to shoot me a colleague request, we can chat, and I can answer any more specific questions you have man. Good luck, and I hope to hear from you!!

I am in Jackson, Mississippi! really crappy market, but I can pick up houses for $2,000-$20,000 and have them rent for $400-1,000 a month. Strong renters market here.

What about you? @Cesar Ramirez
