Hi all, I am looking for a CPA for my taxes in the Memphis area as this is where I have real estate. I live in New Zealand and have a LLC for my real state and am in need of my taxes being done. I have been having trouble with finding someone, maybe because I am not on the ground so to speak, and I am behind with my returns so I am looking for someone to help me that is reasonbly priced or at least open to negotiations on the price.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Post: Needing help with selling in Atlanta

Hi all, I have a property in the South West of Atlanta and am wishing to sell it through Owner Finance. My big problem is that I do not live in the USA and I know that you can do a lot on the internet now a days but how do I go about having someone on the ground to show the property for me?
There is a lock box on the house as far as I know, I can check that but still feel that someone there would be a help.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Post: Operating 2nd Lien Non Performing Notes

Hi all, I am very interested in these notes. I have been listening to Dave Van Horn and am very keen to get into these and away from the tenants at the moment.
My position is that I own properties in the USA and have all the systems in place to do property business, but I live in New Zealand. With owning the properties I have property managers on the ground to handle them, with the notes I realize this will be a bit more hands on with the first few months of trying to get the note to perform. I am thinking of the tracking down of the home owner to set up a program for payments and would they even talk to anybody from outside of the USA. Just the day to day stuff really.
So can it be operated from outside the country and is there others out there that are in a similar position and would be willing to share their experiences?
Thanks

I realize that this is where the Networking comes into it's own and was wondering if there is anybody out there who is also doing the Notes from a distance and anyone doing business with the USA from another country in general and would like to share their experiences with another long distance person.
Thanks

Colin, @Ian Fisher invests in RE in US from afar, and I've seen several people on the site. I believe there is an international forum where you can find more similar folks in your shoes. Free ticket for you to the Summit if you can make it out from New Zealand at the last minute Colin!
Thanks J Martin for the offer of a ticket but can't take you up on it sorry. I will connect with Ian Fisher and look out for the forum you mention. Have a great time and from all the comments there is going to be quite a variety of people attending.

Hi to all of you planing to attend the summit. I would love to attend myself but can't as I live in New Zealand.
For those of you that don't know my beautiful country, we are in the South Pacific with a population of about 4 million people, the same as some of your small cities in USA. I have properties in Memphis and Atlanta and would love to do business in Dave Van Horn's notes as it is still staying with Real Estate but not having to deal with tenants.
This is where this event would be good as with doing business from another country is in some way similar to doing business from another state. There is a major need for friends that you can talk over problems and can help out with some of the business.

Hi all I have a question, who is responsible to inform the County Tax Office of when you purchase a property. Is it the Closing Company or the person buying the property?
Thanks

Thanks for the replies, yes I am new to BiggerPockets but have been investing for awhile now. With not living in USA I don't know the areas to well and rely on others to help, not always a good thing. Anyway onward and upwards as they say.
Thanks

Hi everyone, I am looking at a property that is up for auction. The address is 3576 Monessen Drive 38128 Memphis and am trying to find out what it is worth. I don't know the area much as I live in New Zealand but have a couple of properties already in Memphis so any opinions on this property would be very helpful.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the responses that I have had. To answer the main question, I live in New Zealand and operate the business of the properties through a LLC.
I have used a tax man before but am just looking around for someone else.
Thanks
