@Saim Chaudhry , I sent a letter and waiting 1 week to send a 2nd letter to the attorney.

@John Van Uytven, I'm doing more research to learn the situation. I think it's worth a try!

@Rick H., you are probably right. There might be more eyes on the property than my own. It is vacant however. I couldn't locate the widow but for sure tax bill are sent to attorney office.

And lastly, thank you everyone!

I found a property by driving around; sent them a letter.I did more digging and found out it's a probate, which executor is an attorney. Probate records have a $640k bond. Furthermore, the grantee is the mentally ill widow. Can anyone help me understand what this mean? Can I contact the lawyer directly to purchase the house? If so, what should I say to the lawyer executor?

Hi all!

Some time ago, I had this vision that if I had 10 rentals (free & clear) when I retire, life should be good. I started researching about real estate. I talked to several seasoned investors. Then I realized I could do this for a living! Then I came up with an 18 yr plan to net $500K from rentals. Ha! Ha! Many people have worked their whole life and couldn't even dream of such income.

Long story short, here I am. I still have a lot to learn and many mistakes to make. This is a great site! There are so much knowledge here that I even begin to think I might be able to shorten my 18 year plan.

My name is Vee from Houston, TX. Great pleasure being here!
