Very unseasoned investor, please excuse me if this is a dumb question.
Is it normal to consult with appraisers during the pre-purchase/researching a property phase? Outside of getting a full appraisal done beforehand, are there simple calculations that can be done early on in the process.
Obviously I'm running comps myself and getting CMA's from my Real Estate Agent, but coming from a Finance background I like having as much data available to me.

I am a new investor in Indianapolis who just started out on my first BRRRR venture in January.
I was wondering what issues you were running into regarding HML's. I am using an HML who I've found incredibly easy to work with so far, I would love to pass on advice or information if you're looking for it.

I found this in another forum here on BP, and I've found it very useful in my search so far. Definitely not an end all/be all reference, but good for a basic understanding.
