Any recommendations for a property management group in the Tampa/Clearwater FL areas, or which ones to avoid?  Also, for a newbie, what to look for in a property management company.

i met with a guy i like named Robert (Bob) Symanski of Symanski & McKnight 'certified public accountants and business advisers."  Very knowledgable and has a vast experience over many industries including real estate, and they have some real estate interests of their own.

Im a newbie as well in the tampa/st pete area, and what made me feel a little better ab it all was having plan.  So thats my advice, listen to the podcasts often, read the books ('Rich Dad, Poor Dad' is a classic starting point, I also recommend 'Hold, How to Find, Buy, and Rent Houses for Wealth'), and start seeking out professionals and form your "team."

I'm a newbie so apologies if I'm off base, but I've heard of an investor in the St. Pete area who was in the area with ab 15 properties who went bankrupt because the insurance rates spiked recently.  I don't know all the details, it was just info through an investor friend, but I (and recommend all) stay cautious ab investing  in the St. Pete area

I and a parter are looking to assemble our professional "team" in the Clearwater FL area and are looking for advice/good recommendations for professionals to work with (or professionals you recommend not working with).  Ideally we're looking to find: (assume all are familiar with working with RE investors)

1.  An Agent

2.  Lender (local bank or credit union)

3.  Property management company

4.  Attorney

5.  CPA

6.  Title Company

7.  Contractor

Any advice welcome for a couple of newbies!

Zack

Yea the more I'm learning as i go through the course (ab half way through now), and from talking to people, it seems worthwhile just to have it in my pocket, if only to have access to MLS. Also i was listening to BP podcast and heard a really neat strategy i haven't thought of form a husband/wife team in which the wife is a licensee. They send out promos on holidays or when leases are almost up, etc, and say "if you buy with me, tear up your lease for free!" Meaning if they want to leave to buy their own home but are still under lease terms, if they buy with their current owners they can just tear up their lease and not have to buy it out. I liked that a lot
