Being from the panhandle of Florida there are intriguing areas there, if you absolutely had to invest in Florida thats somewhere I would be looking at.That said I would reconsider the Midwest, while yes for 3 months it is a bit cold it is absolutely beautiful the rest of the year, having lived in Indianapolis for a 5+ years now, I have absolutely no urge to move back to Florida.

It's a beautiful area and many make it their FT residence.

For example, the block I live in (Virginia Park St between Woodward and the Lodge) is full of beautiful mansions, with almost no vacancy.

Riverview has great schools, beautiful parks, and houses cost half what they do in Royal Oak.
