Perhaps my unforgiving stance was heavily informed by the fact that I used to live in Greece from 2001-2007, the years of the socialist glut of arrogant, lazy, good-for-nothing government workers, when the government didn't even keep track of how many people worked for it.I think this situation is very different.

When I did return to the property, the fellow was standing in the freshly shovelled walkway with a big smile ... he had never shovelled snow before (hadn't seen it until he changed planes in MTL), saw what the neighbours were doing, and thought he might clear the walk while he waited.
