There are a lot of small maintenance items (like a door jam, toilet clog, blind malfunctioning, fireplace pilot light out) that I don't have the resources to cover at the moment they occur.

If the chimney is not essential (i.e. no boiler or furnace using it) block, disable (and down the road remove) it - chimneys, particularly those with traditional fire places, are major sources of heat loss.

There is not a single aspect that's not trashed with intentional damages like big holes in walls, intentionally ripping out carpets, trashing new appliances, kids drawing in all rooms, broken doors, window shades, screen doors, lost garage and fireplace remotes etc.

CO is a product of incomplete combustion, so if there is gas to the house or a fireplace, you might want to have someone called out to take a look.
