I saw a lot of alcoholism and drug use and all the things you associate with that environment.

There is currently a lot of alcohol being drank on that side of the house which usually turns to bad decisions in my experience.

I also know (not think, KNOW - I've seen it) that we are killing our own planet due to unnecessary consumption and greed, and need to knock that $hit off.  

If we have no time to cook because of school, we buy McChickens or the 4 for 4 at Wendy’s to eat for dinner instead of spending a ton of money on a restaurant and we ended up cutting out alcohol as well.

Of course it doesn’t matter if you go blow it all on a car and alcohol every pay day.

People that are of sound body and mind and free from drug/alcohol addictions will find a place to live if they can no longer afford the place they are currently living.

All sarcasm aside, my wife and I grew up poor, live very modestly and strongly dislike over-consumption of consumerism.

With much of the Phoenix, AZ area being historically agricultural the claim could be made that the water consumption is not increasing nearly at the level some fear due to all of the agricultural ground being converted to rooftops. 

You might not find one in Akron to carpool with, but maybe you can pair up with somebody along the way to keep down your gas consumption (and subsequent wear and tear, fluid changes, tires, etc.).

The population at large in the U.S. is a consumption economy.
