At the end nothing else that you leave your kids will matter if you don't enjoy those precious moments. 

On the other hand, for you the landlord, it helps to weed out some of the persons you would have wasted your precious time with.

You don't have to act on them but you won't lose out on precious days if you decide to start any type of proceedings and it will establish a behavior pattern so your tenants will always know where you stand.
