Brian,Because VT is a traditional rental market (ski houses), depending on the minimum duration you will be allowing for rentals (ie. monthly, Weekly, etc.) there are some regular carriers in the New England Market that will write it.

I actually grew up in New England so I’m very familiar with the high purchase prices that it’s comprised of, not to mention NH high property tax.

When we were stationed in England, and bought our houses, we got a thick stack of documents going back to the Norman Invasion of 1066. 

But unfortunately even 1-3 hours outside of Vermont is still mostly New England which is both pricey and I'd prefer to have a property in warmer areas.
