It becomes a calculus exercise. the extra thousand raises seller costs, but should cover the extra costs at the margin in most instances. 

Not that my absence will deter promoters like this one bit, in their greed driven calculus for every knowledgeable person they might lose they will pick up 3 patsies, so it's a very profitable trade off for them.

If you think primary, residential real estate is profitable, I'd love to see the calculus that proves it, rather than listen to anecdotes that involve principal payments because those aren't profits.
