Secondly, I always rent to people who are neat, responsible, pay their rent, no "issues" such as drinking/drug use/violent romantic partners, etc.

It is not a rosy romantic endeavor.

This is true regardless of if it is a business relationship or a romantic one.

Their cooking, their TV shows, their romantic proclivities...you are going to hear, see and smell a lot of it. 

To highlight a scenario that seems to play out often in rentals owned by BPers, a tenant will decide its time to move in a dog, shady romantic partner, or acquire a new annoying habit that has any good landlord/PM ready to serve notice that they're violating their lease.

Romantic, boutique hotels like the Shinola, The Foundation, The Detroit Club Hotel are plentiful.

I drive a 2004 Expedition White, 171,000 miles, I run Amsoil, and have no plans of upgrading my paid for  sled that helps me take long romantic drives to the bank!!!

I just accepted that I would never have any money while also holding on to a romantic/bohemian idea that money was somehow inherently bad.

When we moved into my place he started paying a portion that we both found acceptable - cuts me a check every month, +/- other things we need to balance out for other expenses or someone paying for someone else.It may not sound romantic, but I think it's an important part of a healthy relationship.  

It not your job to come up with reasons why everything "might" work out, or transfer romantic dreams from a novel into the situation.Argh.
