The mean temperatures in Colorado Springs have risen in the last 50 years, and the number of unusually hot days has also increased, so while homes didn't used to need AC, I think it's a must now.For that reason, I'd agree with @Aaron K.

Start out at room temperature and turn up the heat slowly, he's not going to notice.The worst mistake I made as a novice landlord was to think "Oh my tenants are great", I don't want to scare them away with yearly increases.

Due to the wood subfloor, the bathroom floors have a little give to them and one of the small tiles is cracked. not a big enough deal to replace (2 inch tile) but knowing how difficult it is to stabilize old wood floors with the seasonal temperature/humidity changes in our area...we'll be doing allure in the future.Thats one reason to install a crack isolation membrane before tiling.
