The Bonus Depreciation rules were meant to help business owners who have to pay full price for assets, but were penalized by forcing MACRS and other mandatory depreciation regimes upon them.   

I suspect t it will vary by the specific investment,  and how much is done by any given partner.

What they actually meant to do, and did, was completely disguise their fees.
