We see it all the time in Oregon and Nevada with CA transplants .But if you want to go out of state I like one simple rule.. figure out the median house price of a given area and buy at that price point.Don't go into a market with a 150k median price and buy a 75k house thinking your going to get rich and retire :) U want to buy in neighborhoods that are primarily owner occ ..

Hair dressers “rent their seat” in salons all the time.Now a residential property owner may not want their property used as a quasi hotel, but suggesting there is no reason that someone could do something absurd like leasing an asset to use in a buusiness is rude and demeaning.

Although it got me in the door, it is not a strategy that can scale for business or health reasons( I want to pull out my hair at times) However; I would not tell someone not to do it.
