You will need to travel 2-3 times a year to gain traction or work with a solid boot on the ground or start as a passive investor in Syndication or JV.You will also need to get proper legal and accounting advice to determine which entity would be best to own assets in the US if you are an NZ Citizen.

There's just no way it's constitutional for the federal government--not even the states, which government this sort of thing--to void terms of a contract between two private citizens and force someone to allow a person to live in their property for free.

lets put some context to this.. the average American citizen looking to buy a home to live in or for a rental will have their loan app go through one of the software programs.. no where in those software programs is it mandatory to disclose Race religion etc.

We have a strict screening guideline, and although a bad tenant sneaks through from time to time, we have mostly great tenants.The dicey activity tends to stay away from properties that have surveillance and law-abiding citizens. 

Need to change that before there's a ban on French citizen...IRS is a pain, been struggling with the accountant for a year to get an ITIN and be able to pay taxes...
