I'm looking for someone local in the PGH area if anyone has recommendations for when the time comes in the next few months. 

A good RE agent will have relationships with local contractors they can refer you to so you don't have to call random people then take a leap of faith that they are going to do good work on time and on budget.   

To me, that says that -- no evidence to the contrary -- he rented out in violation of the town ordinance and (my take) now wants to whine that he got caught.AirBnB and other short term rentals (STR) need to be regulated because they impose externalities on neighbors and deprive local governments of revenue and -- depending on circumstances -- pose unfair competition on local hostelries.

It’s pretty much a repeatable process each time I enter a new market: talk to locals, ask who they personally use, test with a small project, then gradually build out the full team.

Knowing more or being there more often will narrow the gap between you and a local investor.3.)
