@Felipe Rivera, I hate to be that guy—but having to finance major capital expenditures on a long-term rental is usually a sign that there weren't sufficient reserves in place at the start.

When I was looking for my last rental a few years ago, it was between a higher end condo or single family home. 

The mid term rental company is great but real wealth comes from long term ownership.

Finding a motivated seller or looking into VA assumable loans are both strategies that are working right now for long term rentals.

This go around however- demand for RE and other hard assets could actually accelerate -particularly as rates are floored and monetary policy loosened...part of the reason Berkshire & Buffett just went long on housing.
