Places in the Midwest like Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Kansas City are good for this too, and in the Southeast, cities like Charlotte, Atlanta, and Raleigh-Durham offer cheap buys and lots of renters.

For me, I like the Southeast in general - SC, NC, GA, TN, and FL. 

Today we are all over the Southeast, US and have grown the company to several thoudsand units via value add and groundup developments.

Instead I would look at the climates of North, South, East and West Texas and pick what you like best then look for cities in the Suburbs with a varied employment base. 

So, here we go...I grew up on a farm in Southeast Georgia, about an hour north of Jacksonville, Florida.

Now hope you find my humor.I would disappear go live in the Asia Most likely Thailand investing a bar then sell over priced beer and food to my friends Which I would set up trips for them ( LOL ) not a bad idea after all.Second Choice would be one of the islands Like Jamaica setting up bar / marijuana shop on the beach.

Everybody uses these in Asia.

We are looking in the Southeast and Midwest but lack experience in identifying what areas are not saturated with investors, making it harder for newbies to gain a foothold.

Stay away from Southeast Raleigh.
