These symptoms can also be just allergic reactions, as you mentioned, and not necessarily some sign of a serious illness created by mold.

I'd agree with the previous posts and have a contractor or engineer do a quick inspection to make sure the bowed floor joists aren't the symptoms of a larger problem (i.e. sinking foundation).

I suppose the only question I'd have is with this size of a house and only a couple would the daughters and granddaughters soon be moving in also.For what it's worth, I've got a tenant couple who are in this late 60's and both have medical problems (he with heart disease, she with significant diabetes).

Of course, I readily admit that's about as helpful trying to self-diagnose via a symptom search on WebMD.It does seem to my laymen's eye that an STR could, in fact, be thought of as a modern-day boarding house, just with different technology and a remote host.
