All the other years were single digits and there were 6 years were the inflation rate was less than 3%, and 18 years where the inflation rate was between 3% and 7.6%  I copied the numbers exactly for BLS, and you can "trust but verify" by taking the time to look up yourself before saying your government stats are wrong.

The ones being talked about here sound like contractor lockboxes with the 4 or 5 digit manual codes.These are often put on for contractors to do work on REO's or for access from other brokers and agents who are non-mls etc. wanting to see the property.It is a violation to be doing this but it happens all the time.

I currently rent, my first months rent I payed via wire transfer per the landlords instructions...turns out it was a digit off on the account number but I didn't notice the transaction not going through and he called me around the 13th of the month.
