@J Scottexcellent point about withdrawing from your retirement account to fund a short term project and then returning the money to a retirement account before the 60 day time limit is up.As far as the court case, until there is actually a successful challenge to the Tax court ruling, I would suggest erring on the side of caution because the IRS (at least some part of it) is going after serial rollovers and if they prevail that is a huge penalty to pay.
