Usually property taxes pay for municipal items like police, fire, city, and schools.

I would also generate loud music there and board the house and invade the squatter LOL.Been there, done that.So in some of our city , there's group of 15 years old teenager that keep stealing Kia and Hyundai, the police can't do anything because they're protected by the law LOL now everyone in the city, know this kid address , and sharing their photo ; maybe we could talk to their parent too and begging ooh please don't steal our car.

I had a different neighbor randomly call the police on my guests, complaining about noise in the middle of the day, while quiet hours are between 10 pm and 7 pm. 

As you know homeowners improve neighborhoods through pride of ownerships, calling Police if needed, watching the streets and calling on the Alderman when they want more services, etc. 

However there is something to be said about the proven systems and polices that have allowed a company like mine to become such a large company. 

Plus CA will not prosecute anyone if they go into a store and take $950 or less of merchandise, stores can't even get a police response for that. 

Also, no dumpsters to have to police. 

(I.e. police officer, nurse, school teacher, government workers) maybe it was just luck, but all my tenants are still working and paying on time.
