in affected areas first.Taking out drywall is also fairly easy (big hammer, regular hammer, and flat prybar is about all you need) but is very messy so enclose the work area, wear protection and ventilate it.Note if if this is a pre 1978 house which it looks like it is,   and you plan to rent it,  then legally speaking you must be lead paint certified and follow abatement procedures when removing or disturbing more than six square feet of painted surface in any room.

Some will argue that if you buy in markets that don’t do mortgages, that the prices are more stable, which on the surface that appears true, but when the buying pool is primarily international investors with access to cheap credit in the states (until now), investors were able to get HELOC’s on their USA based properties to buy abroad with cash.

Account Closed  moving there and getting the lay of the land with no doubt help you going forward.make sure you keep your drainage in good shape on your property you may need to water your foundation in the summer tenants wont do it.. believe me.. its not if its when.. when it comes to foundation issues in those areas of expansive soils and older homes that were built to absolute minimum codes which is much of the older product in texas..

You could wear a mask all day, and go touch a public surface (escalator/stairs railing, door knob, etc) then go grab an apple from your local grocery store, take your mask off, and eat that apple.
