Just purchased our first VR in Big Bear Lake.  

Hey @nerdwallet, I know your business is based on ads from lenders/banks/credit card companies that pay for your crappy site that has more pop-ups/ads than a porn site, but…maybe don’t promote stuff like this?

I operated a VR in a tourist town of 2500 that was 30 minutes from the nearest small city/big town of ~200,000.  

On another note, the more you can make their experience feel like they are getting hotel quality service with a neighborhood feel that will help you stand out in a VR destination.Technology and guest experience is something I love so let me know if you’d like to chat further. good luck my friend,Patrick 

Personally, my philosophy is to find a reasonable tourist area with favorable VR regulations and work to get a REALLY good per unit price. foreclosure, multifamily that needs a little tlc, low money down, etc. 

You should definitely talk to them as well as our hometown shop, TurnkeyVR.Getting comfortable running numbers in a VR sense and talking to others (such as myself) would be a good way to get more context to get started.

I highly recommend anyone thinking about or currently engaging in STR or VR markets in NC read and understand this document.

.- I own VR properties and also manage the reservations for other peoples VR properties, and can tell you responding to inquiries can be a full time, 7 day a week job.

While marketing the house we have in San Clemente, I have looked for sites where I might cross advertise it for a Vacation Rental property, but have not come across any sites that focus on listings of VR properties, so I thought I'd come to those with experience.
